So BODA BODA! is a phrase that a handful of messengers like to shout… well, whenever they get a chance.
Its a crew of working messengers that get off on going fast through lines of traffic and partying till their faces melt off.
Through the guys in BODA BODA! I got to meet all the wonderful and often times colorful characters in the NYC messenger scene.
Here are a couple portraits of some of the members. I’ll be posting more as time goes on.

Like I said, I’ll be posting more as I shoot. These are some of the ones I had off hand.
So my friends at Mess Kollective recently got a grip of sponsors.
I always get stoked when small messenger companies and cooperatives get backed by other companies. Its showing love for the little guy. And considering how cutthroat this industry is, we all need as much help as we can get. That includes the gear to help us do our job.
Fortunately for MK, they caught the attention of some sick sponsors. Pearl Izumi, Castelli, Outlier, Catlike and Freight Baggage all helped them out with some awesome gear.
They wanted to show their appreciation and send them over some photos of their generous sponsorship in action. I grabbed a few shots of them showing off their new stuff.

Heather wearing an Outlier hoodie.

Heather and Aias with Castelli wool jerseys. I really like that they’re doing a throwback look with the wool. Word.

Another Castelli shot. We were joking around and wanted to do a “lookbook” shot. Its super cheesy to say the least haha

Aias posing with his Catlike (sooooo nice) helmet and Pearl Izumi jacket. Its interesting where Pearl is going with their recent line of cycling gear. Its defiantly more “urban cycling” than anything else. Really nice stuff though.

Aias again with his Freight Baggage work bag. These bags are handmade in SF by a fellow messenger named Travis Poh. Travis is a super legit dude and makes even more legit bags. I currently use his large sling and large backpack for work and I can safely say that they are the best bags I’ve ever used.
It was fun hanging out and snapping a few photos of everyone. There are some more photos that I still need to upload so expect some more later.

Here is an old group photo that I caught during the monthly Fab Friday races in Austin, Tx.
These races are put on by Fast Folks, Texas’ first track bike shop that my good friend Natalie started.

This particular one was an Easter theme complete with Easter egg hunt and confetti eggs galore.
I always fondly look back at old photos from Texas. I definitely spent some great times with my Texas friends.
Alright, so this is the start to something I hope to keep up with.
I feel like a lot of people have one of these things so I thought I might give it a try.
Check back for more updates. I’ll try to make it interesting.
